Ladakh-based engineer Sonam Wangchuk was the man who inspired the central character of Phunsukh Wangdu or Rancchoddas Shyamaldas Chanchad aka Rancho, played by Aamir Khan in the Bollywood movie 3 Idiots. Wangchuk has put out an emotional appeal to boycott Chinese products after the recent friction between India and China at the border.
While Wangchuk’s Twitter video with the message to boycott Chinese products was widely shared on Twitter and WhatsApp, model Milind Soman tweeted that he has uninstalled the Chinese app TikTok in response to the video.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan continues to be a sensation with the Chinese people with his films doing well in China.
